Oh Yes, We've Definitely Moved On

I know that we made fun of GW Bush quite a bit.I know skits on SNL and pieces on Jon Stewart and others ridiculed him a great deal. What we have now is a campaign on Youtube and all over the internet with the most vile, racist and ridiculous emails and short pieces about Obama. I am so embarrassed by people I know when they send this stuff to me. Horrible things that would never, in the past have come to me in any form, regularly wash up on the internet. The world has passed from just a few terrible folks making things up to possibly millions of them nodding and agreeing like it is perfectly normal to present this material to others as amusing. We all know that people will take on the bad aspects of others, if it presented as "cool" or popular with others.  In this instance, you really don't have to make a public stand. You can make a huge difference by just deleting whatever it is from your emails and not passing it on. That could be very effective, if lots of people do it. You can take a stand against the bully boys and girls who are making our 'nets such a dismal, negative place to visit. After all, your parents surely raised you better than to become a sheep to follow the evil ones to spread the horrible, made up, bad news that they want you to send merrily along to all of your friends and relatives!
