Lumpy, bumpy and pokey! This type of cactus has the tiniest spines, they stay in the longest and sometimes hurt the worst!

Soothing Cactus Flower-Disturbing Political News

Just an old flower, from the  spring, really. Cactus flowers are so delicate and this time of year, almost nonexistent. So, I dug up an old shot. I have to focus on something besides politics. I really like to flow from election to election and not concern myself too much with the goings on in the middle. That just isn't happening now. Bitter, polarizing fighting is being shown nightly on the news. The right is doing all it can to get the weak and ignorant up and raging. So, you can see why I like to look at the mellow, soothing flowers that I have stock piled. I didn't know that was why I was keeping them all but it seems to be working out now.

New Shield-Back To Basics

I just took this to Harlow Gardens. It is reminiscent of my original pieces, very primitive. My husband and I both like the first ones I did and it seems to be an effort to keep from tarting them up so much. This one is unique in that it has a star in it. Most Southwest art has a sun in it and a lot of mine has a sun in them.

Finally finished my latest gate, the fourth in a series. Lots of animals and birds and the cacti are pretty vibrant. My husband helped me with the animals and just with general critiques. It will be for sale when I get around to it.Click the smaller ones for a closer look.
