I went out and got some Melatonin a few days ago and it seems to be helping in the sleep department. I think I read about it in that book I referred to a couple of days ago. I was using Tylenol P.M. but I was afraid I would get in a habit of using it. Besides, this stuff works so much better. A friend of mine, Cupcake, told me that pets are the number one reason that people don't get enough sleep. I have 2 kitties and a dog and they all want something in the middle of the night, usually at different times. Add that to the adrenal problem and it makes for some mighty sleepless nights. SO, I have been getting up when they bug me, but then falling right back to sleep when I lay down again. I feel great today, that's all I know!
I tried melatonin too and it seemed to work for sleep but after a few days, I got symptoms of terrible hypoglycemia which I used to get when I had adrenal problems. I think the melatonin was the cause of the hypoglycemia. My symptoms were a starving feeling that I could not get rid of even after eating a lot of cheese and turkey. I have quit taking melatonin but will take a small piece of a melatonin pill if I need it to sleep.
