I would love to share a bit further in regard to nutrition and adrenal insuffiency. As a Traditional Naturopath, I see clients regularly with adrenal insufficiency and will share that one of the significant causes is the stress caused by consuming gluten. Consuming gluten when you are gluten intolerant will create inflammation in the GI; this inflammation will require a higher production of cortisol to be converted into cortisone as the bodies natural anti-inflammatory. When we continue this cycle by consuming gluten regularly, this will exhaust the adrenals. Hey, don't we all have enough mental/emotional stress these days, without adding the gluten challenge? If you want to discuss this further, feel free to visit me at www.AskDepkeWellness.com. I already have posts up on gluten and adrenal insufficiency. Hopefully this is helpful to somebody.

Thanks for writing, Sara. Sounds like you have a good grasp of the poblems. I have had acupuncture, too. I just don't think the guy knew what my problem was to begin with. Now that I have a better idea, it should work better. I'm not sure what TCM refers to.

I just bounced to your blog. I have what I think is adrenal fatigue but I am waiting for a specialist appointment to confirm diagnosis. While I was waiting, I decided to try Acupunture and TCM and I can not believe the difference this has made in terms of my energy level. The acupunturist says I have a kidney deficiency and is treating me for that. I am 38, female, edurance athlete, I have estrogen dominance, insulin resistance and I have high cholestrol. I couldn't eat any better than I already do, I excersize lots and I get lotsof sleep. Acupunture may have saved me from months and months of spirally. I am also feeling more optimistic and generally able to cope with things on a day to day basis much better.
