I just spent a sweaty hour trying to get my Eureka vacuum cleaner to work. I've been sick for days and my house is getting a bit "spotty", as it were. All I wanted to do was run this stupid machine around the house a couple of times and get back to my couch for a rest. I guess that is too much to ask from a Eureka vacuum. I tried all of the normal things I have to do to it to get it to work. That is way too much to have to do, but for some reason it has to be done each time, anyway. Nope, not this time, I had to work on all the parts, with tools, for the whole morning. Ask me if I felt like even getting up to vacuum? No, I did not. Well, now, it'll take a nice long recovery period to be able to even half way clean the house.
I bought this seriously decrepit machine because I got tired of shelling out money for cheap vacuums. I've had more vacuums in my life than I can remember. Mostly, I bought the $99 sale vacs and after they ran out of steam, I bought another one. Trying to get ahead of the game this time, I got one more like $250, thinking it must be at least twice the use out of it. Well, guess what? Maybe if I had bought one of Hoovers or Bissels upgrades, it would have made more sense, but I thought Eureka was the equal of those other old brands. I was in for a rude awakening. Whoever engineered this machine must have been on crack cocaine! Lots of it. Whatever they could do to make it unwieldy or uncomfortable, they did. I suppose the only answer is to throw it in the trash and find something else to use. I mean, after all, the customer service department totally ignored me when I mentioned I wrote to them a while back. Heck of a charming company and machine!
